Plot[edit | edit source]
The premise of the story involved two high school kids, one named Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo, whose parent, Soun Tendo and Genma Saotome were students of the anything goes school of martial arts. They made a deal that when they got older, their children would marry and carry on the Tendo Dojo, which belonged to Soun as he had Three Daughters while Genma has one son, and luck would have it, Ranma and Akane are the same age. However, an incident occurred during Genma and Ramna's training in China, which resulted in both falling into a cursed spring, which caused Genma to turn into a Panda while Ranma turned into a girl version of himself. Now of course they changed into their cursed form when they get hit by cold water and can change back when hit by warm water.
The series is remembered for three traits in the series, which included...
- The series reveal and explain strange types of martial arts that would not exist in the real world.
- Both Ranma and Akane gather suitors, who tried to obtain the other for themselves.
- The series shows more female feet in both the manga and anime series.
