Minerva Mouse, also known as Minnie Mouse, is the main female protagonist and a main character of the Mickey Mouse franchise. She is the female counterpart and the official as well as permanent lifelong girlfriend of Mickey Mouse. Created in 1928 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks, her first appearance was in a cartoon short called Plane Crazy, which was created before Steamboat Willie as a silent film, but not distributed until 1929 with sound added.

Minnie Mouse has, over the years, grown into a strong, rather complex, and easily identifiable character in the Disney universe. Her many personality traits are more than noticeable, as well as consistent, in every incarnation of the character.

She first served as one of the two main protagonists (along with her boyfriend Mickey) in the old classics until 1952. She returned in 1983 in Mickey's Christmas Carol as a minor non-speaking role. She appeared in commercials afterwards before serving as the main protagonist in her own Totally Minnie. She remained absent until she appeared as the deuteragonist in the short Runaway Brain. She soon made her regular appearances starting in Mickey Mouse Works, Mickey's Once a Upon a Christmas, House of Mouse, Mickey's Twice a Upon Christmas. She then stared in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and it's segments Mickey Mousekersize and spin-off Minnie's Bow-Toons as one of the three main protagonist (along with Daisy and Cuckoo-Loca) and appeared in the Mickey Mouse shorts, Mickey and the Roadster Racers/Mixed-Up Adventures, The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse and Mickey Mouse Funhouse.

She was voiced by the late Walt Disney, Marjorie Ralston, Marcellite Garner, Thelma Boardman and Ruth Clifford in the old classic shorts, and by Janet Waldo in an adaption. She has also been voiced by the late Russi Taylor, who also voiced Huey, Dewey, and Louie, Webby Vanderquack, Donald Duck as a pre-teen, Phantasma, Melvin and Timmy Tantrum. As of 2020, she is now voiced by Kaitlyn Robrock, who officially took over the role starting in Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures.
